With advances in agricultural practices and transportation of fresh produce, one or the other variety of mangoes is available in the stores all year long. I was surprised to see raw mangoes available at my local vegetable vendor all year, whereas a mauve coloured imported variety of mangoes is available in the high-end grocery stores. The best of ripe mangoes are believed to start coming into Indian markets during peak of summer.

While mangoes are relished in so many ways, mango milkshake happens to be a favourite amongst all. A glass of chilled mango milkshake in hot summers can do wonders!

Before we proceed with the recipe, here are a few pointers that will help you in getting the texture and flavour of mango milkshake just perfect!
- Choose firm, ripe and sweet mangoes.
- Choose mango varieties whose flesh is not very fibrous, such as alphonso, badami, pairi, mallika, bainganpalli or lalbagh. These work best for making mango juice/milkshake.
- Depending upon the sweetness of the fruit being used, the amount of sugar may have to be adjusted in the recipe.

Mango Milkshake Recipe
Serves – 2
1 Cup = 240 ml
INGREDIENTS:
- Mangoes – 2, ripe
- Milk – 2 cup, chilled
- Sugar – 2 tsp or as required.
INSTRUCTIONS:
1) Dice the mangoes.
2) Blend together with chilled milk and sugar.
